There is no absolute way of assessing weight but many doctors use a height and weight chart called the Body Mass Index (BMI) as a rough guide to assessing weight among the general population. Use this chart as a very rough guide to work out how overweight you are.

Remember that it's only when we become seriously overweight (perhaps 30lbs over your ideal weight) that our health may suffer.
